Tim Bosma's Murder Exposes Spoiled Rich Kid's Crimes Part 1

 

Hello all our crime buffs. Today, I am writing about a case that really hit deep with a lot of people, especially Canadians, more specifically, Hamiltonians!! 

I cannot say how many blurbs this one is going to take because I want to write a bit about the victim, the perps, and then the explosive revelation of multiple crimes that these two perps had committed; all starting with this particular case. 

Of course after that I will write about court proceedings, sentencing and aftermath...

There is not a lot to reveal about Tim Bosma. He was married and had a young daughter. He was a devote Christian, who loved his life. He was merely 32 years old, when he unfortunately met with, "Devil With a Name". I firmly believe this story struck a cord with a lot of people because of HOW it all happened. 

(Before I get there, I want to write about the perpatrators, Dellen Millard and Mark Smich)...

Let me begin with Dellen Millard, just because he was definitely the brains in these crimes...

Dellen Millard was born August 30, 1985 to Wayne Millard and Madeleine Burns. His father, Wayne was a pilot who flew for Air Canada as well as Millardair, an aviation compny Wayne's father, Carl created. There is no denying that through Wayne Millard's hard work, his family was extremely wealthy; which sadly ends up being the very reason for his own demise.

Dellen had some major accomplishments in his life, including at the age of 14, he set the world record of being the youngest person to fly both a helicopter and a fixed-wing plane, solo on the same day. He had everything going for him; owning many properties in various cities. Including a $1.2 million home in Toronto, a half a million dollar condo, a $2 million home that he used as a rental property, a hundred acre farm in Ayr that cost $850,000 and in May 2013, he made his final purchase of a $627,000 condo in the DIstillery District in Toronto. You could say that Dellen MIllard was not lacking for anything... so why commit these atrocious crimes???

We don't have nearly as much information on his accomplice, Mark Smich. Mark was born on August 13, 1987 to a middle class family. Up until the murders, Mark was only involved in petty crimes, including having drugs on his person, DUIs, breech of court conditions... All minor compared to what was to come.

Mark Smich knew Dellen Millard because besides selling illegal contraband, he did work at the Millardair hangar on several occasions. These two had a very odd friendship, as it consisted of Dellen despising Mark and Mark worshipping him. Eventually they had a decent relationship, to the point that Mark's girlfriend at the time, moved into Dellen's basement.

Dellen began to entice his friends with "missions" of stealing construction equipment. These were not committed for monetary value, but just for the sheer thrill of it.

Now that I have introduced the key players in the case (eventually cases), I am going to start the next blurb and write about Tim Bosma's case, sentencing and convictions; then I will have to do another to include the other accusations and the aftermath of THOSE allegations and charges.
