Alaskan Avenger ~ Jason Vukovich ~ Vigilante or ??? CONCLUSION

Thusfar we know that Jason Vukovich had attacked 3 men who were on the registered sex offender list. He had not killed anyone, but he felt he was exacting revenge for those without a voice... Can't say I blame him!!!

It didn't appear like Jason was attempting to evade the law neither. Police found him sitting in his Honda Civic a few blocks from Wesley Demarest's home.

Inside the vehicle were all the stolen items, the hammer he used to hit Demarest AND a notebook that contained 3 more names of registered sex offenders that for some reason had been crossed off. Jason Vukovich was arrested without incident and charged with 18 counts of assault, robbery, burglary and theft. He HAD initially plead not guilty; but changed his mind and agreed to make a plea bargain with the prosecution.

The prosecution dismissed over 12 of the charges as long as he plead guilty to first-degree attampted assault and a consolidated count of first-degree robbery. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison (in 2018), but that was with 5 years suspended and another 5 years on probation.

AFTERMATH

Jason Christian Vukovich did attempt to appeal his sentence due to his own PTSD, which is a very valid reason for his reaction to these child abusers and sex offenders; but he lost the appeal for that in 2020. The Judge made his stance very clear when he ruled, "Vigilantism won't be accepted in our society!!!"

There has been a very split reaction to this case. Vukovich's lawyer presented thousands of people who had pledged their support of Jason's deeds and were pushing for his release. His attorney, Emily Tilton sentiments were that she didn't feel he needed to be punished. He had been punished as a child who never deserved that in the first place. It was the system that failed him, and his brother!!!

Jason Vukovich may have been the avenging angel in Alaska; viewed as a hero to many child abuse victims, but he HAS told others who suffered at the same fate he did as a child to NOT take justice into their own hands, but to rather find peace within.

To this day, many people are fighting to have Jason Vukovich released from prison. There are online petitions everywhere; people using hashtags like #FreeJasonVukovich #JusticeForJason

Many in the public feel the same, the justice system isn't doing enough (or anything, in some cases), to punish pedophiles; even doing less to support and help their victims.

I don't know how you all feel about this case, but I fully believe he did what he felt was right. Was he suffering from PTSD??? Absolutely, without a doubt. Appeal after appeal to voice this has been denied. To me, Jason Vukovich should be the prime example of why pedophiles, child abusers and registered sex offenders should literally face the death penalty.... no ifs, ands , or buts!!! Why do we continue to supply these sorts of criminals with 3 squares and a cot??? Jason, to me... is a HERO!!!
