The Dirty Lil Secret Who Couldn't Let Go ~ Travis Alexander's Murder Part 1

Hello Crime Buffs. Today we are going to dig into a case of "If I can't have you; no one can!!!" Yes, I am talking about a case that rocked a lot of people nationwide; but more importantly brought forward men being the victim in domestic violence...

We are first going to introduce the victim and the perpetrator before we get into the nitty gritty of the case. We will see just how far one woman will take her obsession, ultimately leading to one of the most grotesque and excessive overkills we've seen in a long time.

Travis Alexander was born July 28, 1977 to Gary and Pamela Alexander in Riverside, California. There is not too much of an explanation of why, but Travis moved in with his dad's parents when he was eight year old; when his father died in 1997, the rest of Travis' siblings moved there as well. Travis seemed to be a bit of a wild child, getting constantly involved in fighting and was using a psuedo name, Eddie Snell, to perform at a live comedy club.

His life drastically changed when he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, to which, for all appearances he was quite devote to his beliefs. He became a motivational speaker and a saleman for the company called Pre-Paid Legal Services aka PPL.

Jodi Ann Arias was born July 9, 1980 to William and Sandra Arias in Salinas, California. She never completed highschool because in grade eleven, she became an aspiring photographer, which was more of a passion than a job, so she took odd jobs to compensate herself financially. One day she too, became a sales person with PPL.

The night that began it all was when both Travis Alexander and Jodi Arias were attending a PPL conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in September 2006. It was clear that she immediately took a deep liking to him and quickly decided to convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints on November 26, 2006. In a weird twist, it was Travis that baptized her in the ceremony which took place in Southern California.

They publicly became a couple in Februaru 2007 and Jodi moved closer to be with him, but oddly in April 2008, she moved in with her grandparents... It seemed there was trouble in paradise for these two. They were together for approximately a year and a half, but it was more of a long distance thing than a true deep love. They did travel between Arizona and California often to see each other, but remained friends with sexting each other, even when Travis began another relationship.

Interestingly enough, Travis Alexander's friends and loved ones were concerned for him when they observed how tumultuous their relationship was. They were deeply worried about Arias' behaviour too. Oh, if only more people would listen to the ones they love when it comes to relationships that seem particularly "off".

Although Travis had moved on with his life with another woman, it didn't seem like Jodi was going to let him go so easily. She had the mentality that if she wasn't going to have him, no one would!!!

To be continued.....
