Kenneka Jenkins ~ What's the Truth??? Part 2 INVESTIGATION & OUTCOME

We shall continue with the Kenneka Jenkins' death investigation here...

We've already discussed the tragic news that Kenneka had been found deceased in one of the hotel's big walk-in freezers; but what really happened to Kenneka???

People were told that the freezer she was found in was on, but was part of a kitchen that was not being used at the present time; but somehow that story changed... The hotel, after answers were demanded, claimed that particular kitchen/space was being rented out to a restaurant needing more space. (Again, too many questions. Why lie that it wasn't in use, then claim it was leased by a restaurant???)

My question here would be... Kenneka Jenkins were missing between 3 and 3:30 AM on the Saturday morning and her body wasn't located until 12:25 AM on Sunday. If this kitchen was being used by a restaurant, wouldn't their busiest times be on the weekend??? So how come no one was in that kitchen between those hours??? Anyone who does prep for a kitchen, know that it was be the most busiest part of the restaurant, and that prep time is very early in the morning. Again... what kind of restaurant doesn't require their employees to go into the walk-in freezer several times on a weekend???

Something just isn't jiving here. At one point, a community activist (Andrew Holmes) is cited saying that he had seen footage, from the police that shows Kenneka Jenkins entering the kitchen and freezer alone; and there definitely was no one else in the picture.

Obviously there was an autopsy performed and as per witness statements, there were no illicit drugs in her system, but her blood alcohol level indicated that she was drunk. Now, she also had some medication (Topamax) in her system; something she had never been prescribed, as it is for migraines and seizures. The Cook County Medical Examiner explained that topamax combined with alcohol will exemplify the effects of both the medication and the alcohol.

(Did they investigate how the medication go into her system??? This is especially interesting to me because of what the police announced next!!!)

They found lesions in her stomach and swelling of the brain (which was never investigated). Immediately the police issues a statement saying they didn't believe foul play was involved; but the investigation isn't complete.

A police report came out, revealing that the room had been rented with a stolen credit card and it all linked to a Chicago-area gang!!! Police persisted that the rumours flying around surrounding Kenneka Jenkins' death were false and there was no evidence to prove that.

Kenneka's mother, Teresa Martin has been insistent from the beginning that something about the story the friends gave is constantly changing. There were text messages exchanged between friends as one saying Kenneka was really drunk and now missing; the friend replied that she couldn't believe they lost her and to "Find Kenneka".

The story that they tried to stick with is that they went downstairs to the lobby, but when they realized Kenneka didn't have her belongings, they left her in the lobby while the three friends returned to Room 926 to retrieve her stuff. (One did change her story, saying that they had left her in the hallway on the 9th floor. So which story is true???)

Ultimately, the Chicago Police Department ruled out homicide and it was claimed to be an accidental death. In 2018, the family sued the hotel and others. The defendants were found to be negligent in the way they secured the area. They were found guilty of allowing an illegal party to happen, without shutting it down when they knew it was a fraudulent card and finally, they were also found guilty of not thoroughly checking the footage as soon as it was determined that Kenneka Jenkins was missing.

This lawsuit was settled in December 2023, with the family being awarded $10,000,000. To me, there wouldn't be enough money in the world that could replace my deceased child. My thoughts and love are to Kenneka Jenkins' mother, sister, family and loved ones. This was definitely a very preventable death; they deserved better!!!

To be continued... (Is something sinister happening or is there no relevance to the other cases left unsolved???)
