  Diane Downs was exactly what she was labeled as... she truly was a psychopath; never really taking accountability nor responsibility in what she had done to her children. Diane was put in  Oregon Women's Correctional Center in Salem, Oregon immediately from the courthouse. On July 11, 1987, the brazen woman escaped from the prison by scaling an 18 ft razor wire fence. She was on the run for 10 days literally mere miles from the prison she hid out with a man named Wayne Seifer. She showed up at his door, virtual strangers. Wayne Seifer was a heroin addict and he had no problem initially letting her in the house, but he felt the heavy burden of trying to keep her hidden inside the house and from her not harming another person. He did however admit that they had a sexual relationship while she stayed there those 10 days. Fortunately for him, the police found a piece of paper in her empty cell that revealed where she was.   On February 28, 1984, Elizabeth Diane Downs aka "Diane" was arrested and charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder and criminal assault. Unbeknownst to authorities, Steve or Robert; Diane Downs was pregnant with her fifth child at the time of the investigation and arrest. She had been having an affair with yet another man. She would remain pregnant throughout the trial and just before sentencing, she gave birth to her fourth daughter whom she named Amy Elizabeth.  The newborn was obviously taken into State custody and adopted; but we shall reveal more about that in the Aftermath section of this case. The prosecutors did not hold back, they explained that Diane Downs shot her children simply because she wanted to be with Robert Knickerbocker. Their youngest daughter, Cheryl had asked him something very disturbing... saying she wanted a gun to kill herself because her mother said she was "bad."  ( How could such a young one be suicidal over how her own mother made her feel? Was this a premonition of what was to come??? As a father, should Steve have paid more attention to what his child was really saying???) This may be where the story gets a bit confusing as I will be jumping back and forth between what was believed and what was the truth... The fateful day was May 19, 1983. A distraught mother had driven to McKenzie-Willametter Hospital in Springfield, Oregon with her three children shot and a bullet wound in her arm as well. Today, I am going to be diving into the bizarre case of Diane Downs, one of the most famous momsters that ever existed.  The reason I feel so deeply about this case, besides it obviously being a mother who killed children for her own selfishness; but also because her case if the very first book I read written by the late Ann Rule . It was called SMALL SACRIFICES , and Boy! that title is fitting!! Elizabeth Diane Downs (nee Frederickson) was born on August 7, 1955 in Phoenix, Arizona USA. SHe was the daughter of Wesley and Willadene Frederickson. There isn't too much to write about her upbringing, other than her having nothing good to say about her parents, especially her father. She didn't like the way he was controlling of his wife. Diane was also very bitter that he spent so much time away from home.  At one point, Diane would claim that her father sexually abused her. Later, it was revealed that she recanted, as her parents denied it right from the get-go.  (Why do

  Both Marybeth Tinning and her husband, Joseph Tinning were brought down to the police station and interrogated separately. It didn't take long for Marybeth to admit that she murdered Tami Lynne, Timothy and Nathan.  She signed a written confession; but was only arrested and charged in the murder of Tami Lynne, as she now claimed that she was put under too much pressure to confess, and she lied claiming she was denied the right of legal counsel and the police were constantly threatening her. Dr Michael M. Baden, the lead forensic pathologist for NYPD's Special Forensic Unit, did determine that Tami Lynne was smothered with a soft object, like a pillow... Joseph faced no charges as this all seemed to fall on Marybeth Tinning. The authorities charged Marybeth with Tami Lynne's murder, leaving the other eight deaths as "suspicious". She managed to pay her bail amount of $100,000 and was permitted to continue to be a free woman until trial. June 22, 1987 the trial of

 I am going to begin this one a little different... As I have already told you in the past 2 entries, Marybeth and Joseph Tinning, either had the worst of luck when it came to having a family of their own, after 8 biological children and one adopted son all died. The authorities were finally getting involved; but to me, this was way too late. Nine children did NOT have to die before anyone took notice and investigated them. So much tragedy and loss, for what??? It wasn't until Tami Lynne's death, that the authorities decided to perform autopsies on six of the infants/children. The autopsies appeared to be a complete waste of time, as there was nothing to show abuse and by all appearances, they all looked like natural deaths. It was the coroner, Dr. Robert L. Sullivan who piped up and admitted that so many people were in on this situation. But we have to go back a couple years to begin to even attempt to understand the actions of this very disturbed woman... Jennifer Tinning arrived (December 26, 1971). She was born at St. Clare's hospital, but she faced medical problems. She had hemorrhagic meningitis and has several abscesses on her brain. She survived for a week and passed away in the only home she knew... St Clare's Hospital on January 3, 1972. (This is where all the twisted, sinister things began happening... No one really paying attention to Marybeth's odd behaviour and inconsistent stories...) A mere two weeks after newborn Jennifer Tinning had passed away, Marybeth was back at Ellis Hospital ER, where she told medical staff that Joseph Jr. had a seizure and had choked on his own vomit. Shirley Turner was arrested on December 12th, 2001 and the US authorities were preparing her for extradition but they were denied. Justice Gale Welsh felt that Shirley Jane Turner was NOT a threat to society and was released from Her Majesty's Penitentiary's Clareville Correction Centre for Women. Shirley was ordered to turn in her passport and would have to visit the RNC once a week, promising to remain there and not make any attempts to speak to anyone in Andrew Bagby's family. There was a $75,000 bail, which was posted by none other than John Doucet, her psychiatrist as well as former co-worker from Memorial.   We are now introduced to Andrew David Bagby.  Andrew was born on September 25, 1973 to Kathleen Daphne Bagby (a registered nurse and midwife from Chatham, England UK) and David Franklin Bagby (a former American United States Navy serviceman and computer engineer). Andrew Bagby was also studying at Memorial University. This was his third year when he began dating Shirley Turner. Andrew originally was from Sunnyvale, California US. In mid 2000, Shirley Turner moved to Iowa to work for Trimark Physicians Corp. The odd thing was Shirley Turner was offered the surgical residency at the State University of New York Upsate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She was there from May until her abrupt move in August of 2000. Apparently Shirley and Andrew tried to maintain the long distance relationship with travelling back and forth between their places. (Weirdly, there is an incident of a burglary at Andrew's apartment, and it is believed it was Shirley who did it). The following autumn, A

The move didn't stop Shirley from hassling him. She started incessantly calling him. It was overwhelming for him. The following November 1997, Shirley even travelled to where he lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia (NS).   I am going to start off this post with it is claimed that Sadaria Davis was good friends with Kenneka Jenkins; a 19 year old African American woman who was found frozen to death in the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel seven months prior.  THAT case was a very confusing one; leading to many suspicions and myths of what actually happened to Kenneka Jenkins. Ultimately, the Cook County Medical Examiner and the Chicago Police Department (CPD) felt this was a freak accident, and after questioning twelve people, the case was closed with her family receiving $10 million for the negligence of the hotel. Now we can jump seven months ahead... On April 25, 2018 Sadaria Davis, who was 15 years old was last seen by her mother, Nicole Sargeant, while sitting on her bed. By all accounts, Sadaria was a great girl, very bubbly and full of life.
