The Baby Face Butchers ~ Central Park Murder Part 2

It is now May 22, 1997...

Daphne Abdela and her boyfriend, Christopher Vasquez were in the park, rollerblading, as per usual; when Daphne commented to him, and anyone who would listen, that she was going to kill someone that night; even describing herself slitting someone's throat, producing her switchblade to Christopher. 

No one believed that she was actually going to do it, as she tended to say idle threats all the time. The irony here is that Christopher had his own blade and only responded with , "I'm in", when she told him.

On this ill-fated night, Michael McMorrow was in the park, and it's already been established that the two knew each other through AA. The trio were drinking together. Daphne offers Michael a beer, and shortly thereafter, both kids produce their knives and threaten him.

Christopher Vasquez swiftly moves in and begins to repeatedly stab him; Michael gets up and tries to run but Daphne used her rollerblade to take out his knee, knocking him to the ground.. Michael's pleas go unheard as the stabbing continues. Daphne then orders Christopher to slice his throat from ear to ear and he does as he is told. They pretty much had severed his nose and wrists before Daphne tells Christopher that he needs to gut him, and fill him with rocks so he sinks to the bottom of the lake.

When they felt like everything was done properly, the teens returned to Daphne's home... Her father, Angelo had let her move back in. In an ironic twist of events, Angelo had called the police to report that Daphne was out past curfew; when NYPD arrived at the home, they found both of them in the basement with blood on them. Daphne swiftly dismissed their concerns, saying they fell while rollerblading and the police left.

Daphne Abdela might have thought she was smart, but her ego was too big, she called the police and left an anonymous tip about a body in Central Park Lake. NYPD traced the call back to Daphne's home. Her father begged for her to remain silent but she just ate her bowl of mac n' cheese, quickly ratting out her boyfriend, saying Christopher Vasquez committed the murder. 

The police went to find Michael's body and remove it from the water as Daphne yelled, she tried to help him; she tried to give him CPR... Police knew immediately this was a lie, as over forty feet of Michael's intenstines were outside his body, floating in the lake. The two teenagers were arrested without incident.
