"He's Homeless. No One Will Notice!" ~ The Disturbing Case of Brian Cohee Jr. Pt 2 TRIGGER WARNING!!!

 

I am going to continue with the actual crime itself, and I wanted to write this as a separate entry, because this part is rather graphic and extremely disturbing.... to the point, that I am posting this as a TRIGGER WARNING!!!

As I had already stated, Brian Cohee Jr, was on a mission that fatal day. He had been plotting for well over half a year to murder someone... anyone; although his choice would have been preferably a prostitute or homeless person; because they are less likely to be missed!!!

"He's homeless. No one with notice!!!"

The next minutes are devastating, not just writing about them, but to even imagine how someone who is innocently sleeping, trusting the environment to keep them safe; only to encounter someone like this despicable person.

Unfortunately for Warren Barnes, Brian Cohee spotted him sleeping and went quickly towards him. Like the coward he was, Cohee was wearing a mask, 3 layers of gloves and was carrying a butcher knife to use in the attack. He swiftly approached 69 year old, Warren Barnes, grabbed the canvas/tent that covered Barnes and just stabbed him in the neck; no provacation.

It is of no surprise that Warren Barnes didn't die  for the first stab wound; but it did jolt him awake and he was screaming at this point. Brian Cohee Jr. just jumped on top of his victim and continued to stab him, until he was no longer breathing and ultmiately died.

As if the multiple stab wounds weren't enough for the loved ones to hear about; Brian Cohee Jr, went to extremes. He decapitated Barnes, disemboweled Warren Barnes because he wanted to "see his guts,"  (this was revealed when he confessed it during interrogations at the police station). He also severed both Barnes' hands as well as stabbing both his eyes.

Just when you though his heinous acts were done, Brian Cohee Jr, would continue to unfold while the world slept. He mutilated Warren Barnes further by using his knife and carving what people generally call the "Joker smile" (But to be correct it is called the "Glasgow Smile" is a wound caused by making a cut from the corners of a victim's mouth up to the ears, leaving a scar in the shape of a smile.The practice is said to have originated in Glasgow, Scotland, in the 1920s and 30s); onto Barners' face before he removed his head and placed it into a leftover pizza box. He left the rest of the body at the scene, only taking the head and hands with him.

Brian Cohee Jr. was clearly not in "drone" mode and definitely knew what he was doing. He arrived at home, washed his and changed his clothes.

He tooke Warren Barnes' head and hands, put them in garbage bags, hiding them in his closet, while he attempted to take a nap; but he became so worried that someone would discover his fingerprints on Barnes' body, because he found a tear in one of his gloves; that he got dressed and returned to the scene of the murder.

Cohee quickly returned to where his victim's body wqas, and managed to put him into his trunk; driving down to the Blue Heron boat ramp, which is on the Colorado River. He deposed of the body into the river; oddly Brian's car got caught in the mud and slid back into the river, getting stuck there. Definitely a lost chance of nabbing a terrifying killer. The local police were called; they didn't find anything suspicious over Brian nor his situation and they helped him get on his way.

I've always wondered what murder felt like.
