Dr. Quincy Fortier ~ Case of Psycho Fertility Doctor Playing God Pt 2.
Things escalated from Wendi Basti's revelation.... The DNA database that Wendi had used revealed that the now deceased doctor, (He died in 2006, at the age of 94 years old), who was once revered for his incredible work in the fertility world was a horrible being who for over the span of forty years, had produced at least 26 children with his completely obliviant patients.
Devastating and possibly fracturing families all over. Could you imagine dicovering after 30+ years, that the father you always knew was not your biological father, and that you were product of essentially what I would call "medical rape"??? It is unfathomable; being an adoptee is hard enough not knowing who you are or where you come from, in the best of circumstances. This not only deeply effected the adult children but also their parents and their marriages; along with their families.
Obviously the shock and devastation also met with the question on what the adult children were to do now. They had now several people around that were siblings they never knew, and could there truly be any type of friendship let alone kinship with these virtual strangers; all products of some twisted, sick perverted man's fantasy.
One can also wonder what this meant for the Fortier family that already existed... What did it mean for the husband, father and grandfather they all knew and loved; or the version of a man they perceived him to be?!!
I think the most frightening thing about the unfolding of this case was that Fortier is not the only medical professional who has done such a thing; even though his case truly rocked Las Vegas and all of Nevada to its core; there have been at least two dozen different fertility specialists who have done the same "fertility fraud" concept...
Another case widely known is Dr Donald Cline who was in Indiana, Indianapolis. He was proven to have fathered at least 94 (that have been confirmed) children with his patients. He fathered children from 1974 until 1987. He was at least charged, and although he has only had to pay out just under $2 million dollars and served a year suspended sentence; there is nothing that will be true justice for what he did to all these women, their spouses, families and children. You'd think this would truly make women fear going to any type of specialist to help them with any or all fertility issues. I'm shook!!!
To be contiued...
